11-year-old Xavier is jumping for joy
ANOTHER Sleaford school pupil is celebrating his own GCSE achievement, having passed his Spanish GCSE with flying colours – at the age of 11!
Xavier Cunago, who has been studying the language for more than two years, is one of the youngest candidates to not only pass the exam, but to achieve an A* grade too.
His dad Michael said: "We're so proud of him, we couldn't be more pleased.
"He decided a couple of years ago that he wanted to study the language and give it a go.
"He wanted to see how far he could progress so we've backed him all the way."
Xavier, a former Rauceby Primary School pupil, began private weekly lessons with a tutor two-and-a-half years ago.
He sat the exam, which consisted of reading, writing, listening and oral assessments, at Spalding Grammar School in May.
Michael said: "He was very nervous on the day, but we just told him to do his best.
"He's over the moon with his result and he deserves to be – he worked very hard to achieve it."
Xavier lives in the town with Michael, mum Lisa and sister Lola.
He will attend Carre's Grammar School in September.
