A 20-acre reservoir that will form part of a £44 million water treatment works has been constructed near Lincoln.

With a 300 million-litre capacity, the lake will help the Anglian Water facility to meet the city's growing demand for the resource.

Work on an abstraction tunnel to the Trent is also progressing quickly.

The treatment plant will be built next year, allowing the full Newton-on-Trent operation to be up and running in 2014.
