TWENTY homes in a Lincolnshire village were without water for several hours following a burst water main.

The water main outside the Butcher and Beast pub in High Street, Heighington, near Lincoln, burst at 6.30am on Saturday, causing damage to a nearby gas main.

The homes and pub were left without water for several hours while contractors dug up the road to repair the damage.

Anglian Water gave out bottled water to the residents and confirmed that the water supply was fully operational to all the affected properties by 5pm.
