Boston's ground was the closest suitable A-Grade venue available to Gateshead in order to complete the fixture before the regular season's end on April 20.

Boston United secretary John Blackwell told the club website: “This is a unique scenario for Boston United.
"We were contacted by Gateshead to find out whether we would be able to help them out and we were pleased to assist.
“It will be quite novel having a Blue Square Bet Premier fixture played at The Jakemans Stadium between two sides hundreds of miles away from Boston.
“I am sure the match will generate some local interest.”
