A TOTAL of 666 people attended the third Lincoln Veggie Fayre.

Organisers Vegan Lincs and Lincoln Animal Friends hosted Saturday's event with a view to encouraging people to try vegan food and make steps towards being vegetarian or vegan.

An array of vegan cooking could be sampled from 10am to 4pm at Trinity United Reformed Church in Garmston Street, Lincoln, including mushroom stroganoffs, kormas and chillis as well as vegan cupcakes and muffins.

There was also a cooking demonstration on alternatives to turkey at Christmas by Helen Rossiter, of Viva.

The fayre was officially opened by director of Viva, Juliet Gellatley, who gave a presentation.

Lorraine Carter, of Lincoln Animal Friends, said: "It is a way of demonstrating that people are not missing out on flavour and choice with vegan food."
