61-year-old Lincoln man dies in A17 crash
A 61-year-old Lincoln man has died after the car he was driving was involved in a head on collision on the A17 at Kirkby La Thorpe.
The collision happened shortly before 4pm on November 10 before the eastern end of the Sleaford bypass.
A beige Citroen Xsara Picasso, driven by the 61-year-old man accompanied by his 62-year-old wife, was travelling towards Sleaford while a line of traffic was coming the opposite way, heading for Boston.
The Citroen collided with a silver Vauxhall Vectra and the 61-year-old died later at Boston Pilgrim Hospital.
The 55-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall and the 62-year-old passenger of the Citroen were taken to the same hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
The road remained closed until 9pm.
Police are appealing for witnesses, in particular the occupants of a black Honda Civic who may have seen part of the crash.
Anyone with information should contact Sergeant Chris Dennett on 01522 558855.
