The Darlton club has been flying from the new site, previously a farmer's field, for more than three years and the members have been developing the site at a remarkable rate.
They have built a 1,300 metre runway, two aircraft hangars, a clubhouse, a repair shed, car parks and installed an underground sewage system and a generated electrical supply.
The club currently has 65 members – male, female, young, old, experienced and ab-initio pilots who can enjoy flying from a site remote from population and controlled airspace.
