Singer-songwriter and guitarist Elliott Morris came home to Lincolnshire bearing a Danny Award from the Celtic Connections international music festival in Glasgow and you can catch him live at Lincoln Drill Hall on Friday, February 15.

Elliott, who is based near Horncastle, headed north to play on the festival's Danny Kyle Open Stage. One of 60 selected from hundreds to play in a series of ten concerts showcasing new talent – the 23-year-old was then invited back for the final in front of a sell-out crowd. All six finalists received a Danny Award and an important return booking in January 2014, when they will each have their own featured spot in the festival.

"This was a brilliant way to start a new year performing," says Elliott. "Straight away the accolade led to talks with other festivals as well as the possibility of touring abroad. I played more than 100 solo gigs last year so it's really pleasing to see the hard work and the travel paying off."

Elliott Morris will headline with Chris Woods and Ockham's Razor at Lincoln's Drill Hall on Friday, February 15 (7pm-10.30pm). Tickets: £10 (including the masterclass) or £20 (including ticket to see Not Until We Are Lost at 8.30pm). Box office: 01522 873894, www.lincolndrillhall.com
