Lincoln Imp went one better, beating Woodhall Spa 7-2. Phil Harrison's grabbed both goals to give Cross AFC a winning start to their Division Four campaign. Heighington were 3-0 winners against Witch and Wardrobe while a last gasp save by Jack Wilson earned Trent Valley all three points as they beat Dunholme 2-1.
Performance of the day came in Division Five as Liam Wright's magnificent seven goals inspired Peter De Wint to a 9-0 drubbing of The Shed.
Poachers were also in the goals, scoring six without reply against Greenbank, while Travellers Rest overcame Newtoft Terriers 4-1 with James Slater netting two.
Wagon & Horses Branston lead the way in Division Six, as they were 5-2 victors over Welton. Kal O'Melia scored twice in AFC Golden Eagle's 4-2 success over Birchwood Leisure.
This weekend saw the first round of the County Sunday Cup, a prize that has eluded a Lincoln side since 1998. Jake Keyworth bagged three in FSC Victory's 8-1 thumping of Ingleby Arms (Marton). Two penalties from Rob Kinsella ensured Swan Athletic would be in the next round as they defeated Brigg Servicemens Club 4-0 while Metheringham were 4-0 winners against Fenway.
FVA Jerusalem ended the 2008 finalists Welton S&SC's interest in the competition with a 3-2 penalty shootout win after the score ended 2-2.
Another side to require penalties were Dynamo Varsity who won their shootout 2-1 against No 2 Pub from Grimsby with the scores at 1-1.
