Alarming actions over town hall
Letter to Jane Froggatt, Strategic Director at East Lindsey District Council: I have seen, with much alarm, that the lovely Victorian town hall of Horncastle has been boarded up.
I now hear from close friends at Horncastle that ELDC was the prime mover for this vandalous act.

I would point out to you that not one Horncastle resident that I have met approves of your actions to date.
Under the freedom of information act I would ask that you confirm exactly your plans for this hall and the adjacent land.

“I have also written to Jane Froggatt to ask her to comment on the rumour that ELDC are going to bulldoze the Town Hall to make way for Social Housing.
When ELDC are in dire financial straits (caused by bad management of residents community charge payments) it seems ludicrous to ignore a potential cash cow such as the Horncastle Town Hall. To reject the business plan, purely on the grounds of tecnicalities, when a very useful income stream could be created, is financial suicide.
When ELDC act in such a financially irresponsible way it is no wonder that rumours of a "hidden agenda" are rife.”
