American-style coffee shop and wine bar to open in Lincoln
Flavours of New York will be coming to Lincoln High Street as a local entrepreneur confirms plans for an upmarket coffee shop and wine bar with an American feel.
Work has already begun fitting out the premises, 284 High Street, which is next door to The Appletree cafe bar.

Plans for the new business called New York, will be for it to open from 8am until late, acting as a cafe offering snacks and drinks to eat-in or takeaway during the daytime.
At around 8pm New York will turn into a wine bar providing a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Seating for around 60 people will be spread across several floors of the building as well as a few covers outside.
Initial thoughts are that the new addition to Lincoln's High Street could create around 10 new jobs.
Law graduate, Matthew Wilson is behind the project as since moving to Lincoln after studying in Hull, he noticed how the city's High Street is continuing to evolve.
“This part of Lincoln is fairly lively in the daytime, very popular in the evenings and seems to be getting busier.
"Several other businesses have been investing in this stretch of the High Street.
“My parents, David and Caroline Wilson own similar premises in Boston and I have worked there for many years throughout school and university and that inspired me to think about starting my own business.”
Banks Long & Co Surveyor Matthew Brooks said: “Mr Wilson is a local entrepreneur who is capitalising on the recent growth seen along this section of the High Street, on the back of recent lettings which Banks Long has agreed with businesses such as Patisserie Valerie and Salador."

Thanks for the clarification. The way you expressed your opinion sounded as though you'd adopted the role of spokesperson for everyone.”

And if it was your shop unit, would you take a good rent from someone who wants to open a coffee shop, or accept a lesser figure just because some people think there are already too many coffee shops?”
