Andrew Boyce says Lincoln City are blessed with quality set-piece takers
Andrew Boyce praised the quality of Lincoln City’s set-pieces after becoming a deadly weapon in their magnificent start to the season.
Boyce grabbed his first goal of the season against Dartford at the weekend, turning in from close range after his header from Danny Rowe’s corner was saved by Alan Julian.
Ben Tomlinson’s goal also came from the second phase of a set-piece and they have been a key part of Simpson’s tactics.
City have been a major threat from corners and throw-ins and Boyce says the Imps pack so many options from dead ball situations.
"You’ve got Dan Gray who can throw it a mile and you’ve also got Tom Miller who can throw it a mile,” he said.
"Then you look at corners, you’ve got Rowey, Newts and Power who can all whip one in.
"For centre-backs it’s really ideal and that’s how I scored.
"The keeper has made a good save from a header and I’ve then had a little slice and I’ve scored."
