Anti-parking charges petitions draw support from across East Lindsey
AROUND five per cent of the electorate in East Lindsey signed their names on two petitions against parking.
Gary Denniss from M&G Designs in Louth presented a 2,624 signature petition against the parking plans while Andrew Goldsborough, associate solicitor at Sills & Betteridge's Coningsby office handed in a 2,327 signature petition from the communities of Tattershall, Coningsby and Woodhall Spa.

The petition in Louth was available at several business premises in the town and at the market.
Mr Dennis said he was pleased with the number of signatures collected in five weeks.

He said: "We have two free car parks in Louth which are out of town. They are predominantly used by people who work in the town who will have to find an extra £15-£20 a week on top of their costs which is totally unreasonable.
"By the time they've walked into the town and been to the bank, that free hour is gone. It is going to affect businesses massively."
Mr Goldsborough said: "We are lucky in Coningsby, we have a high street that many would be jealous of. The proposed car parking charges put these shops and services under threat.
"Many visitors to Coningsby come not only from the village but further local villages and smaller hamlets that do not have the facilities and shops that Coningsby has.
"This will impact on the income to the shops and services of our much loved high street and village.
" A downturn in income will make those businesses consider their sustainability.
"Some may ultimately go out of business. The charges have the potential to effect livelihoods."
