Arrest warrant for death crash accused
MAGISTRATES at Skegness have issued an arrest warrant for a Polish national who is alleged to have caused the death of his wife as a result of dangerous driving.
The court heard from accident investigation officer PC Mark Hamilton, that there was a prima facia case against Janusz Jozef Olewicz, 30, then living at Butlins in Skegness, for causing the death of Katarzyna Olewicz on August 23, 2012 on the A16 at Driby by driving dangerously.
Olewicz is now living in Poland and was said to be still receiving treatment for the serious injuries he received himself in the accident last year.
The magistrates ordered that the warrant would be issued without any provision for bail and it is expected that the police will apply for a European arrest warrant in due course.
