Love: twenty images – twenty years is an exhibition of romantic imagery currently ongoing at Gallery at St Martin's in Lincoln until February 10.
Inspired by love and literature, Irish artist Phyllis Mahon moved from London to Lincolnshire 20 years ago to live in the Wolds near Horncastle. To celebrate this anniversary, Phyllis has filled the intimate space of the Gallery at St Martin's with her works.
Large richly coloured chalk pastels and striking lino prints of the early 1990s precede her more recent romantic, small, bright watercolours.
Love is Phyllis's first solo exhibition in Lincoln and is also the first of three exhibitions by the artist in 2013 – rounding off the year back at Gallery at St Martin's in late October.
