Last week, bestselling author James Holland visited the Lincoln Waterstone's, where he gave a presentation on his new book, Dam Busters.

The book details the fascinating stories and accounts of the brave men who destroyed the Möhne, Sorpe and Eder dams on 16th May 1943 during the Second World War. But these weren't just ordinary dams as their destruction put the German manufacture of steel and weapons out for weeks, the dams were also massive patriotic symbols and would have been like 'blowing up Tower Bridge' as quoted by James Holland himself.

James Holland started writing his first book, Fortress Malta, which allowed him to become a fulltime author. From then he put together the Jack Tanner series and then a teenage series, Duty Calls. All of these books are set in the WW2 and offer an exciting and informative view into the events and accounts of the people involved.

Mr Holland is also the co-founder on the Chalke Valley History Festival, which has become Britain's biggest festival devoted to history in only two years of running, with speakers like Michael Morpurgo (bestselling author of War Horse) and even Michael Gove (the Secretary of State for Education). The festival is running between the 26th of June till the 1st of July, James Holland will also be presenting a talk at the festival.
