An autism-friendly showing of a new children's film is being screened at Grantham's Reel Cinema later this month.

The special morning screening of Madagascar 3, Europe's Most Wanted, on Tuesday, October 30th, has been organised by Grantham Autistic Information Network (GAIN).

It follows the successful autism-friendly showing of Ice Age 4 at the St Catherine's Road cinema earlier this year when some 90 people enjoyed the movie.

The screening is specially-tailored to create a more suitable environment for children with autistic spectrum disorders. These include the lights being left on low and the volume turned down, no trailers before the film, and the audience allowed to move around the cinema and make noise.
