THE council offices that were the subject of a frenzied axe attack have now reopened.

Daniel Seaman, 28, took an axe to the City of Lincoln Council offices last Friday.

He smashed up the offices while terrified staff cowered behind locked doors, then punched one member of staff in the face before fleeing.

Seaman, of Birchwood, Lincoln, admitted common assault, affray and causing up to £15,000 worth of damage to the offices of the Property Shop when he appeared before city magistrates on Monday.

Now council bosses say the offices have reopened with a limited service and will be offering a full service by Tuesday.

Councillor Sandra Gratrick, portfolio holder for customer services, said: "The interview rooms were a particular priority as this is where our staff can have private and confidential discussions with our customers."
