Beaches earn right to fly the flag
Blue flags will be flying high in Lincolnshire after three popular beaches were rated among the best in the world.

resorts in Mablethorpe, Skegness and Sutton-on-Sea will receive the
prestigious Blue Flag after passing strict tests on water quality,
safety, facilities and environmental management.
The three areas retained the privilege of flying the flags despite the number awarded by Keep Britain Tidy falling by 11.
Flooding problems were cited by organisers as the reason why only 71 beaches received the award in 2009.
The Lincolnshire resorts will also retain Quality Coast Awards which recognises the best beaches in England.
East Lindsey District Council's portfolio holder for amenities Councillor Dick Edginton said he was delighted with the results.
"I
am very proud we have again been allowed to fly both these flags which
are a tribute to the hard work of our Foreshore and Street Scene
Teams," he said.
"They are up at the crack of dawn throughout
the year to ensure the towns are clean and tidy. It's their commitment
and dedication that makes this award possible."
