Bid to overturn plans to charge disabled drivers for parking in Boston fails
A LAST ditch bid to force a rethink over plans to make disabled drivers pay to use council-run car parks in Boston has failed.
Labour councillors, with support from independent member Carol Taylor, used their powers to call-in the proposals which are part of Boston Borough Council's parking strategy.
But their attempt to have the matter sent back to the council's cabinet for further discussion were thwarted when the environment and performance committee voted against such a move during a special meeting on Thursday.
Barring any last-minute u-turn from the authority's Conservative administration, Blue Badge holders will start paying to use the council's car parks from next month.
