No Big mac-stake: Sleaford manager ‘Lovin’ It’ after claiming McDonald’s degree
THE manager of McDonald's in Sleaford has become the first in the branch to have gained a McDonald's Foundation Degree in Managing Business Operations.
Rebekka Cawley underwent an extensive selection process to earn a place on a programme to gain the qualification.
Rebekka said: "I started working at McDonald's part-time 13 years ago while studying for my A-Levels, and have been at the company ever since, working my way up to be an operations supervisor, overseeing four McDonald's restaurants.
"I was always keen to continue my education but didn't want to get into debt by going to university, so when I heard about the McDonald's Foundation Degree in Managing Business Operations, I applied straight away.

"It wasn't easy working full time at the same time as studying, but it was definitely worth it. I now have even more insight into how the business operates and the transferable skills I've learned will hopefully help me progress even further at McDonald's."
Local franchisee Martin Cuthbert said: "As the worlds of business and education continue to move closer, people no longer want to choose between the two and I believe that businesses like ours have a responsibility to meet these demands.
"There's no longer a need to decide between learning and earning and as such, I'm thrilled to be able to offer all my employees the chance to gain valuable qualifications.
"As a local businessman, I see firsthand the impact that the range of education and learning opportunities available has on my teams. Whether they've completed the Foundation Degree like Rebekka or are studying towards an apprenticeship, the training we provide helps to boost their confidence both inside and outside the workplace.
"Rebekka has set the bar high by gaining her Foundation Degree qualification and I know her hard work will inspire her colleagues to be ambitious when it comes to improving their skills and qualifications."
