THERE is still time to order a brown garden waste wheelie bin at the 2012 price of just £20, ahead of an increase to £25 from April 1.

The one-off payment will equip you with an extra bin, should you need it, and admission to the garden waste kerbside collection service provided by Boston Borough Council, if you have not already joined.

A bulk purchase of bins for the launch of the service last year, together with a delivery discount from the suppliers, meant the price per bin could be pegged at £20.

The increase to £25 from April 1 is because of the smaller quantities now required and the ad-hoc nature of their order and delivery. The price of the 240-litre bins is in line with the cost of other refuse wheelie bins and in line with charges that some other local authorities are making.
