Vehicle Excise Duty is paid to the Government just the same as any other tax......hey wait a minute, theyve called it "duty" and not "tax" now i am stumped. When will people who make this fallacy of an argument realise that there is no such thing as road tax and hasn't been since 1937? Paying car tax doesn't entitle you to park where you want, when you want.

“I frequently visit town daily as part of my job and spend up to 15/20 minutes there. But to do this I have to spend up to 45 minutes waiting for one of the 30 minute, 1 hour or two hour bays to become free. My issue is with disabled drivers abusing these bays. I always see disabled bays empty around town but all disabled drivers park in the marked short stay bays. Why? Because it gives them all day free parking where as disabled bays are only 3 hours.
One solution would be to install parking meters (such as one at the council office) which gives you a ticket to state when you arrived. Traffic wardens / parking officers should be mandatory in town centre's (at least 4 required in Lincoln in my opinion, and 2 on moped/cycle to travel around the outer areas of town checking double yellows, residents bays etc.) to catch people who abuse the system and get away with it, instead a lot of these people will continue to do this and maybe once in a blue moon will get a ticket and ask why they got it?”

Why do you need to do all the hinting RoadRash? If you think it's disabled people / blue badge owners that are at fault for all the illegal parking in Lincoln, just say it. Your 'friend' must not want you to vist roadscurge, if they did they would give you a vistors permit, which the council supplies to them when they buy their Residents permit, for occassions such as this.”

“I think from now on the Planning Authority should turn down all applications for any building including private residences unless adequate car parking is provided for it to cater for its peak number of expected visitors without the need to use the public highway as a car park. Im absolutely sick and tired of not being able to park because of lack of parking facilities.
