Boston United 2 Bradford Park Avenue 3: Match report
Boston United’s unbeaten home record in Skrill North has been ended by Bradford Park Avenue.
The Pilgrims trailed 2-0 after just 10 minutes after goals from Alex Davidson and Paul Walker. Davidson struck first after just five minutes when he drilled home a cross-shot from inside the box. Matters went from bad to worse for the home side five minutes later when Walker finished off a tidy move.
United were fortunate not to trailing by more at interval after Bradford wasted a string of chances. Opportunities at the other end were rare although Spencer Weir-Daley saw a long-range drive spilled by keeper John Lamb.
The Pilgrims looked a different side at the start of the second half. Ricky Miller struck the inside of the post while Weir-Daley drilled inches wide of Lamb’s post.

And United’s pressure was rewarded when a long-range effort from Marc Newsham – his seventh of the season – halved the deficit.
However, Boston’s good work was undone four minutes later when a Bradford corner was missed by the home defence, presenting Steve Mallory with a simple tap-in.
Newsham pulled another goal back from the penalty spot eight minutes from time after Miller had been bundled over in the box.
The Pilgrims pressed for a leveller late on, but some desperate Bradford defending kept the visitors in front.
