“Southermimp you might be surprised that even as a Boston United supporter I share your concerns about Lincoln City in the interests in the overall status of football in the county, but the changes in this Cup competition are for before next season kicks off. Your fate will have been long decided by then. In the past some Lincolshire FA Shield and Senior Cup ties have been played during the final run- in with no consideration to promotion and relegation issues so you will be able to concentrate on the task currently in hand. And then come next pre-season enjoy cup competition with your neighbours without interfering with league prospects. Perhaps your real fear is the prospect of playing Boston and Gainsborough more than once 2013/14! At least you stand a chance of playing Grimsby or Scunthorpe. Good luck with the fight and you will be welcome at York Street whatever the occasion. Bring on the Imps!”

“Common sense at last from Lincolnshire FA making a worth while pre-season competition involving all the senior county clubs that will hopefully attract fans to meaningful local derbies with a trophy crown to claim for local bragging rights!”
