Boston United manager Paul Hurst says Ilkeston's problems should be wake-up call
PAUL HURST says the demise of former club Ilkeston should serve as a wake-up call to the non-league game.
Boston United and Gainsborough Trinity's Blue Square Bet North rivals were served with a winding-up order yesterday amid debts of around £50,000. The Derbyshire club has lodged an appeal.

Rob Scott, left, and Paul Hurst are former managers of Ilkeston.
Pilgrims joint-bosses Hurst and Rob Scott led Ilkeston to promotion from the UniBond League 18 months ago in their first managerial role.
"They were our first club in management and we've got nothing but fond memories," said a saddened Hurst.
"When we were there, there were rumours (of financial problems), but after we left they were taken over and it seemed everything was okay.
"Obviously the problems were worse than feared."
With many clubs encountering financial difficulties in recent years, including the Pilgrims, Hurst hopes it reminds other clubs to live within their means.
"There are clubs out there who try to chase the dream, whatever level they're at," added Hurst, who also played for Ilkeston.
"But chasing the dream can come at a cost sometimes.
"It's far better to live within your means than have no club at all."
If Ilkeston's appeal fails and their results are struck from the record, Trinity would lose the three points for their 5-2 victory at the New Manor Ground.
