Boston United's FA Cup tie with Tadcaster Albion expected to go ahead despite deluge
BOSTON UNITED'S FA Cup clash at Tadcaster Albion on Saturday is expected to go ahead.
The third qualifying round clash was plunged into doubt after a deluge of rain in North Yorkshire left the playing surface resembling a swimming pool.
However, a dryer spell of weather over the weekend and exhaustive work by the Northern Counties East League club means the tie is set to go ahead as planned on Saturday (3pm).
Pilgrims general manager John Blackwell said: "I spoke to their secretary on Monday and he is hopeful the match will be on.

"The standing water is off pitch, there's just some debris that still needs clearing off the terraces."
Pilgrims boss Jason Lee had planned to watch Tadcaster play last week, but that match unsurprisingly fell victim to the conditions.
"Some of my friends in the game have played against them recently and I've heard some positive things about them," said Lee.
"It's a good game for them. They can go out there and enjoy it."
