Boston United v Barrow: Garner ruled out; Newsham touch and go
Pilgrims defender Scott Garner looks set to miss tomorrow’s Skrill North clash with Barrow while top scorer Marc Newsham is “touch and go”, says manager Dennis Greene.
On-loan centre-back Garner had been expected to play after suffering a cut head in the 3-2 defeat to Bradford Park Avenue last month.
However, Greene says the cut needs one more week to heal, but expects him to be available for the FA Cup tie at Brackley Town a week tomorrow.
“He still feels, if he heads the ball, that the cut could open up again so we’re going to give it one more week,” said the United boss.

Meanwhile, Newsham is rated at 50/50 after missing last weekend’s 4-0 thumping of Stafford in the cup with an Achilles injury.
“We’re going to see how he is tomorrow. At the moment he’s touch and go,” added Greene.
However, there is better news regarding the fitness of Conor Marshall and Peter Bore. Both are expected to be fit after coming off injured at Stafford.
