Boston closing in on title in McKinnells League
The penultimate month of the 2009 season closed with just three issues decided in the four divisions.
In the Premier League, Boston went to the top of the table and now have the title within their grasp.

Alex Thompson batting for Bardney against Heighington in Division Two.
Collecting their 10th victory of the season, they were made to chase opponents Hartsholme's total of 193. This they did with two overs to spare.
With previous leaders Nettleham inactive, Lindum moved into second place with a four-wicket victory at eight-man Market Rasen.
Nettleham slipped to third place, one point ahead of Cherry Willingham who had an easier win at Martin who were bowled out for 80. Graham Priestley took four for eight. Cherry lost three wickets on their way to victory.
The fourth game between the bottom two, Scothern and Blankney was abandoned with Scothern 44 for nought chasing Blankney's 124.
In Division One, North Scarle completed their programme and sealed the championship, making an immediate return to the top flight.
Hosting relegation-threatened side Washingborough, Andy Fotheringham took five for 21 as their opponents were bowled out for 74, before scoring an unbeaten 52 to see Scarle home by nine wickets.
The game which assured them of the title was at Hykeham where second-placed Middle Rasen failed to pick up a point.
Nine man Rasen made just 80 with L. Dawson the only player to reach double figures with 33.
Josh Taylor, who had bowling figures of 4-1-3-4, then hit an unbeaten 36 to see his side to a nine-wicket victory and keep their promotion hopes alive.
Another side who had promotion hopes, but saw them all but disappear, were Bracebridge Heath, who scored only 59 in their game at Saxilby. Bracebridge stood at 30 for one at one point but then Graham Morley ripped them apart with figures of 8.5-7-5-6. Top scorer for Heath was Harry Ginniff with 18.
Wayne Gelder then hit a quick-fire 55 not out, inside 12 overs, for Saxilby to win by 10 wickets.
The day's lowest score came on the West Common where third-placed Old Lincolnians were visiting eighth-placed Carholme.
Old Lincolnians managed just 34 which Carholme reached without loss.

“you have to blame the league for what boston have done. the rules state you have to be in a 20 mile radius but ufortunately no one at the league meeting apart from me objected when they went to put a second side in. there needs to be a rule that forbids teams signing anyone on after the end of july as 2 seasons ago they were drafting in anyone they could to make sure they won the league.”

“If Boston win the league it will be a joke. They were only let into the bottom league because they said that they were going to use it to bring on their youngsters. They have been using their top flight players nearly every week and when they have used their younsters, which they said they would, they have been well and truly thrashed. The league need to look a lot closer at teams like this when they apply for the league as it is leaving it open to trophy hunters. Kick them out and get back to Lincoln Area teams only. Probably the league should state that they have to be within a certain radius of Lincoln itself. This would limit the distance teams have to travel as one team in the league have to make a round trip of nearly 120 miles. Is this really what sunday cricket is all about.”
