-

Prosecutor Edward Johnson told Boston Magistrates Court that the 31-year-old entered the property uninvited and an altercation ensued during which he grabbed his wife by the arm.
Piwowarski then left the house, but as he did so he shouted "I'm going to shoot your head off" towards the victim.

Police were called and when they arrested Piwowarski they found a loaded 12-bore shotgun and 102 rounds of ammunition in the boot of his car.
Mitigating, Andrew Goldsborough said Piwowarski had gone to his wife's home to see his 21-month-old daughter and a scuffle had taken place.
He revealed the forklift truck driver had a licence for the shotgun and used it to go hunting.
Mr Goldsborough pointed out that the gun had not been brandished and stated Piwowarski was surprised when the police told him it was loaded as he was usually careful to make sure there were no rounds left in it.
The solicitor added that Piwowarski had no previous criminal convictions.
Piwowarski, of Cannister Lane, Frithville, pleaded guilty to assault, possessing a loaded firearm in a public place and breaching the terms of a shotgun licence.
He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced by a judge at Lincoln Crown Court on a date to be set after the magistrates declined jurisdiction on the case.

“Dear oh dear. Seems that Erhabe's first attempt at making an actual contribution to the debate has fallen flat due to all these inconvenient things called 'facts' getting in the way. Never mind, Erhabe, that was a valiant effort on your part =)

“@ Erhabe
It's states in more than one place in the article that he had a licence and his conviction was partly for breaching the terms of it. Also I do not see where it states that he is a newcomer to the country... filling in the blanks because he has a foreign sounding name?
Just sayin'...”

“An illegally held firearm I imagine. So where did he get it ? If it is legally held, how did he get a licence, being a newcomer to the country. when I had a firearms licence, the checks were very thorough. Then the law on firearms changed and I had to have the gun destroyed, as the gunclubs were closed. Also, I think you`ve got it spot on JacabusRex.”
