Around 4,000 VIP guests enjoyed the humble spud during the ceremony, which celebrates talent in the music industry.
But mystery surrounds the identity of which county producer provided potatoes for the meal. Branston Ltd, based in Branston is one of the largest growers in the UK – but a spokesman from the firm they had not provided the 150kg of potatoes for the star's supper.
Jo Parish from the firm said: "It's not us who are providing the potatoes. I must say I'm quite jealous. I have no idea who it could be in the county."
Around 550 waiting staff and 60 chefs dished out a sumptuous menu of frittata with carpaccio of courgette, aubergine caviar and black olive nougat for starters, before moving onto the meaty main course of sliced British beef loaf served with shallots and truffle.
Vegetarians were given Portobello mushroom and tofu stack with onion and wilted spinach – and both served with a Lincolnshire potato puree, root vegetable gateau and pea crush.

“One word... WOW.!
This is just truely amazing, some people ate some potatoes that were grown in Lincolnshire...
This has got to be one of the events that defines the next decade of human history.
I am just so glad I am alive to live it, I mean in 50/60 years when I am telling my grandchildren where I was and what I was doing when some people at the Brit Awards 2010 ate some potatoes grown in Lincolnshire.
I feel like I should think of some quote to say like, 'one small step for 'a' man' or 'I have a dream' but I am just speechless..!”
