Buddhist monks bless new Thai restaurant in Lincoln
BUDDHIST monks blessed a Thai restaurant in Lincoln ahead of its grand opening.
Three monks, draped in traditional orange robes, travelled from a monastery in Birmingham to bless Thai Sabai last night.

The monks were joined by members of the Thai community who travelled from across the country to hear them say prayers and sing traditional Buddhist songs.
Roy Corder, who co-owns the restaurant with business partner Jiraporn Rawsthone, said he hoped the monks' visit would herald a prosperous new beginning for the restaurant.

Mr Corder said: "The idea to have the monks bless the restaurant came from my business partner Jiraporn to bring good luck and prosperity.
"It's a real pleasure to have the monks visit us and it means a lot to the Thai community."
The official opening was also marked by an acoustic set by band Brodanzis and a performance by local artist and singer Dean James.

“Yes - it was the Bishop of Grantham, as I remember it, which could explain everything.”
