Bursaries for learning specialist heritage skills are available.

Lincolnshire County Council and Lincoln Cathedral are re-advertising two roles.

The full-time placements last 18 months and are funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund skills for the future grant funding scheme.

Cathedral lead workers will learn specialist roofing skills and study for the City and Guilds 6055 Leadworker's Certificate.

The syllabus for the course includes basic bossing and welding; prefabrication and installation of lead sheet flashings to chimney stacks among other skills.

Trainees will be expected to develop an individual learning plan, and carry out conservation work with support and training from experienced crafts people to the required quality expected by Lincoln Cathedral.
