The lorry, laden with 25 tonnes of cardboard, is owned by a leasing agency in Swindon.
Police said recovery time could take up to five hours, causing major traffic problems in the Skellingthorpe area coming into the city. The roundabout is expected to be open again by 1pm.

“All the diverted traffic coming through Birchwood caused chaos this morning as both main roads through were gridlocked”

“i can`t help but think the lorry (hgv) drivers should have more practice on how to take a roundabout with a full load beacuse thats where the main accidents happen because the go to fast and lose control they really need to sort it out and quick before someone else dies a tragic death!.”

“even more reason for the eastern bypass to be built sooner, at least then we have the choice to either sit in the traffic hold-up or head the other way around lincoln.”
