Cancer patients benefit from village's champagne day fundraiser
A GENEROUS donation from a group of fundraisers will help to benefit cancer patients in Boston.
More than £2,100 has been raised for the chemotherapy suite at Pilgrim Hospital and a cheque for the amount was presented to the team earlier this month.
The money was raised at an Ascot style Ladies Day which took place on June 8 at St Nicholas House in Deeping St Nicholas. Guests were treated to a champagne reception and lunch and got the opportunity to bet on their favourite horse and take part in a raffle.
Sister Mandy Dawson from the chemotherapy suite said: "We're extremely grateful to everyone who attended this event for their generous donations and fantastic fundraising efforts.

Fundraiser Doreen Davies said: "Following the excellent care and support our friend Anthony received at the chemotherapy suite we decided to hold an event to raise some money and give something back.
"The money donated on the day exceeded all expectations and we would like to say a special thank you to everyone who supported this event and helped raise money for such an important piece of equipment."
