Car service for elderly people
Old and vulnerable people who struggle to use public transport now have a new car scheme to visit relatives, the doctor or to go shopping.
The Royal Voluntary Service in Gainsborough wants local groups and individuals to encourage the elderly and vulnerable members of the West Lindsey community to use the new service.
Run by the group formerly known as the Women's Royal Voluntary Service, the fully-trained drivers have all had full Criminal Records Bureau checks.
Senior volunteer co-ordinator Laura Packwood said: "We are approaching all organisations with links to old and vulnerable people who have trouble using public transport.

"Drivers use their own vehicles to transport people wherever they want to go. Expenses are 45p per mile.
"And to cover volunteer expenses and a small admin cost we charge our clients 50p per mile after the first three miles of any journey which costs £4.
"So a 20-mile round trip would cost £12.50.
"The journey can be for medical appointments at a local health centre or hospital.
"Shopping trips or days out can also be arranged."
