Car smashes into barriers and blocks Brayford Way bridge in Lincoln
A car veered and smashed into roadside barriers protecting a pedestrian path on the Brayford Way bridge in Lincoln, blocking traffic for around three hours.
Police directed motorists around the scene, on the bridge near the University of Lincoln, while waiting for the car to be recovered.
Officers say two people were in the car involved, but they escaped largely unhurt after the crash on Saturday, October 5.
One of the two people came out of the smash with minor injuries.
The metal barrier along the road has been left bent backwards and twisted - although police say no pedestrians have been hurt.
Police were called out to the crash at around 2.30pm today.
The scene has now been cleared.
The crash had been causing major tailbacks both ways along the bridge.
