Carholme Road sign: Lincolnshire County Council take action
After months of complaints via Twitter about “unsightly” roadside advertising boards on Carholme Road Lincolnshire County Council have taken action.
One particular board has been a real bugbear, Lincolnshire Driveways.
Despite numerous attempts to deal with the problem amicably, the council has now taken legal action against the board's owners.
"This is an important issue for local people so I'm keen to get it resolved as soon as possible.
“We've served a notice under section 143 of the Highway Act 1980, providing the owners with 28 days to remove the trailer,” said Councillor Richard Davies, Executive Member for Highways and Transportation.
"If they do not remove the trailer we will remove it on conclusion of the 28 day period we will then apply to the Magistrates Court for all costs incurred during removal and ask the court for a disposal order,” he said.
