A UNIQUE insight into Lincoln Cathedral will be screened on national television tomorrow.

Episode two of Climbing Great Buildings will be shown at 6.30pm on BBC2, featuring the iconic city building.

Viewers will watch as Dr Jonathan Foyle, of Market Deeping, near Stamford, is suspended 100ft above the nave and scales the cathedral's central tower.

The 15-part series features architectural historian Dr Foyle climbing a number of famous structures in Britain.

Dr Foyle says he is aiming to reveal hidden secrets and tell the story of how architecture and construction has developed over the past 1,000 years.

He said: "This is truly an exceptional journey for me and an amazing opportunity for viewers to see some of our finest architectural treasures in a whole new light.

"It has been a huge but rewarding challenge hanging from the top of some of our most beloved buildings and finding new ways to explore the great history of our nation."

As reported in the Echo, Dr Foyle was joined by top climber Lucy Creamer. The pair scaled the building in July.
