Foodie fans are in for a sizzling treat this weekend as Lincoln celebrates the county's most iconic export - the Lincolnshire Sausage.

Throw in free entry and the picturesque setting of cobbled medieval streets and a dramatic castle, it's no surprise that the 'BIG Tastes of Lincolnshire Sausage Festival' has become one of the region's biggest foodie events.

And for 2012 there will be even more tasty treats in store for visitors as one of Europe's finest cathedrals joins in the foodie fun.

Sausage makers and purveyors of Lincolnshire's other finest foods gather together for the one-day event, which includes live cookery demonstrations, special events and a variety of stalls showcasing Lincolnshire produce.

And for youngsters, organisers have lined up a whole host of events to make sure the Sausage Festival goes with a bang for kids too.

Both events will be staged on Saturday 27th October 2012 with the Sausage Festival in the grounds of Lincoln Castle from 10am until 4pm.
