Cherry Knights have won the WJ Harrison title after beating their closest rival FC Rustons United 3-2.

The Knights, who have only been in existence for four seasons, have an unassailable position at the top of the table.

Cherry led twice through Danny Kent and Luke Atkinson but twice Rustons came back, firstly through Lee Welbourn and then directly from a Will Conlon corner.

The title-winning goal came eight minutes time from the boot of Andy Green.

With this the only league game taking place the remaining fixtures saw quarter-final ties in the inaugural Richardson Trophy.

Blacksmiths hosted Pride and went down 6-0.

In the semi final, Pride will meet Fulbeck United who overcame Waddington United 5-4, but it took extra time to separate the two sides.

Another close game took place at Market Rasen who came from behind to beat Metheringham 4-3 with two goals in the last eight minutes.

Andy Brumpton netted two with one each from James Bennett and Alex Borthwick.

For Metheringham, Ash Woodhall netted two and Guy Goodwin got the other.

In their semi-final Rasen will visit Ruston Sports who were 3-0 victors at home to Horncastle Town.

Emlyn Hughes, Stewart Hutton and Jon Walker scored their goals.
