City boss grows tired of same old excuses as Chesterfield take all three points
A FED-UP Chris Sutton confessed he is tired of peddling "sob stories" over Lincoln City's performances after unmasking his frustration at their start to the season.
In what transpired to be an honest assessment of his side's failings, the City boss admitted his patience was being tested by his players following another below-par display at Chesterfield.

Lincoln City boss Chris Sutton looks on in disbelief.
Lincoln were beaten 2-1 by John Sheridan's title-chasers with goals from Dwayne Mattis and Craig Davies putting the hosts ahead before on-loan striker Ben Hutchinson hit a late reply.
A magnanimous Sutton conceded the best team won and felt he and his players had let down City's 600 travelling fans.

"I'm becoming tired of the sob stories," he said.
"Too many of our players under-performed and that's bitterly disappointing.
"They deserved to beat us. We may have started off well and while we looked okay, we conceded a soft goal and that's how it has been for the majority of the season.
"It's getting to the stage now where I'm becoming bored of repeating myself.
"We did have a go at the end, but overall we have to be much better.
"I said to the players at half-time, that I did not want to be saying we did all right, but we were unlucky. We can't keep doing that.
"I don't like losing. It does not sit well in my stomach and it doesn't sit well with Ian Pearce either."

“What will the team formation on Saturday against Barnet folks?
4-4-1-1, 5-4-1, 6-3-1, 9-1.
Or maybe just maybe 4-3-3.”

“Chesterfield also have a brand new stadium and Jack Lester, shows they have a bit of money to spend. Torquay have been slowly building for a few years with the same manager.
Chris, if you think Oldham are some small club struggling in the land of the giants, then fair enough. Can you explain what happened when they played Man Utd in the semi final of the FA cup and how they were in the top flight? I mean sure it wasn't for long but it is not as if John Sheridan has done anything new in keeping them in League 1, they've been higher. If he had done it with Scunthorpe then fair enough. The Latics are doing pretty well financially and once they sort out their issues with the local football team and finally get that stadium they have been trying to build for the last few years (outside of the Oldham postcode) they will be flying.”

“SUTTON OUT? You are all stupid. He has built a good team and they need time. What do you all expect? After last season we need to aim for a mid table finish. That would be a good season. Things take time and if you sack Sutton the we have to start all over again”

“Chesterfield have fallen on their feet after sacking Lee Richardson, they've brought in a John Sheridan, who has worked behind the scenes at Oldham for 8 years, and having managed Oldham himself for 3 years achieving relative mid-table success in a higher league, with a small budget by the leagues standards, and decent attendences on a weekly basis, despite having numerous other clubs surrounding Oldham to compete for 'bums on seats' - ie. Manchester United, Manchester City, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Blackburn, Wigan, Huddersfield, its no suprise that John Sheridan is achieving what he is at Chesterfield, so to 'Phil North' who claims that Chesterfield will achieve nothing this season, you sir, have no idea what your talking about.”
