THE humiliating dismissal of Melton MP Alan Duncan, who is to be be replaced by Ken Clarke (pictured), is a fantastic boost for the European Movement.

It also represents an admission by Cameron that his Chancellor, George Osborne, has failed to deliver a coherent economic policy.

ERIC GOODYER, East Midlands European Movement.

“The next UK wide elections will be in June when we can elect the European Parliament. The EU is unique amongst all internatinal treaty organisations in having a democratic directly elected parliament. UK voters will now have the choice to have a clear vote on whether or not we stay in the EU. The only real question is IN or OUT. To leave you can support UKIP or the English Democrats. However, I have no doubt that the overwhlming majority will support the PRO-EU parties (Conservative, Labour & Lib-Dem) again. And before anyone tries to con the electorate with the phrase 'looser arrnagement with Europe' I suggest that they read the Tory Party manifesto - they are the architects of British Membership of the EU and will never take Britain out.”

“So yet another battle is to commence regarding the road to the European Union.
Peter Mandelson is trying his best for the New Labour government whereby cabinet ministers will eventually give in and give their full support of abolishing the British Constitution.
An now Conservative Kenneth Clarke will try and persuade his colleagues after being called back into the shadow cabinet.
When it comes down to leadership, David Cameron will be overpowered by those wishing to follow the yellow brick road to Brussels and will join the convoy.
If they increase their pace of walking, they will catch up with Gordon Brown and company who are playing fiddle to the EU!”

“Eric Goodyer appears to miss the point, yet again, in his recent letter.

Ken Clarke has not been ushered back onto the front benches for his political view about Europe, and such a view is naive in my opinion.

I wonder also why Mr Goodyer is seemingly pleased with this, could it be because he knows that his party is absolutely hopeless, and he is looking for refuge elsewhere?

perhaps Mr Goodyer should consider what he is writing before making us all suffer with his utter drivel.”

“For the record I submitted this in my capacity as a Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate - the views expressed regarding David Cameron & George Osborne are not the opinion of the European Movement”
