MORE than 500 vintage vehicles were on display at the annual Boston Classic Car Club Show on Sunday.

Held at Graves Park in Kirton, the event has grown over the years into one of the largest such shows in the region and this year featured a wide variety of vehicles ranging from a 1932 Ford Y Saloon to a classic of the future 2003 MG TF.

As well as being able to view the vehicles and mingle among their owners, visitors to the show also had the chance to browse around 50 trade stands and there were fairground rides to keep youngsters amused.

An impromptu fly past by Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight's Spitfire and Hurricane and then later the Dakota added to the spectacle.

Club spokesman Jane Webb told the Target: "The show was a great success with more than 500 classic cars and motorcycles exceeding all previous records.

"Public attendance was up on previous years with a high majority of younger enthusiasts, which is great for the future of classic cars in general."

A total of £560 was raised on the raffle for the club's chosen charity for the year Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Prize winners were:

Boston club stand: 1, Geoff Edge with a MGA Coupe; 2, Malcolm Reedman with a Vanden Plas 3-Litre Princess.

Masters class: 1, LD Mather with a Ford Tickford Capri; 2, Den Pattrick with a TR 250.

Motorcycles: 1, R Coulson with a Triumph Tiger 110; 2, C Parrett with a Velocette Venum 500.

Best club stand: Kings Lynn Mini Club.
