A SKEGNESS environmental site has made an appeal for unwanted seeds in a bid to grow its activities.

Seagull Recycling Ltd, which runs the Coastal Eco Centre on Richmond Drive, is asking for donations of old, unused seeds from last year whether they are in packets or ones that people have saved themselves.

The seeds will then be used in activities centred around understanding the benefits of growing your own flowers and produce.

Manager Paul Charles said: “We are asking people to send us vegetable, flower, shrub or tree seeds and we will re-use them for this growing season on one of the many projects we run for local people with disabilities, mental health, learning difficulties or young people and children.

“The therapeutic benefits of planting and growing seeds and plants are well documented and this appeal will help us reach out to more people and increase the amount of projects we offer to improve their lives and become involved with innovative and exciting outdoor activities.”

Anyone able to help is asked to either post or drop in their old seeds at Seagull Recycling Ltd, Unit 1 the Willows Business Park, Hassall Road, Skegness, PE25 3TB.
