Coffee sausage latest flavour from Boston butcher
A COFFEE flavoured sausage is the latest variety of speciality sausages to be produced by an award winning butcher in Boston.
The Mocha Real Ale Sausage will be available this week at Andrew Beeson Butchers, which recently won the Butcher’s Choice prize for its pork, leek and onion sausage at the 2013 Butcher’s Pride Sausage Competition.
Owner Andrew Beeson said: “We were asked by Batemans Brewery to produce these sausages as we supply meat for the Heritage Centre at the brewery.
“Their Mocha Coffee and Chocolate Ale won the Great British Beer Hunt prize in 2012.

“When it’s barbeque season we always produce a variety of speciality sausages so it’ll be interesting to see how popular these are.”
The butchers on Eastwood Road, which has a five star hygiene rating with the food standards agency, will also be producing sausages using Batemans Gold Medal winning Victory Ale.
At the Butcher’s Pride competition, held at Boston College last month, Andrew Beeson Butchers, who had previously never entered a competition, competed against 19 others to win the prize for their sausages.
Mr Beeson said: “We were delighted to be picked as the winner.
“Our secret to making a good sausage is that we still use bread whereas a lot of other sausages are made using rusk which makes it cheaper and quicker to produce the sausage.
“Quality is always our priority and we always use fresh, locally sourced products.”
