Comedy favourite Basil makes return
Hilarious antics inside one of the most famous hotels on television will be brought to the stage by Louth Playgoers with an adaptation of 70s series Fawlty Towers at the Riverhead Theatre.
Basil Fawlty is renowned for his short fuse, extreme rudeness and intense dislike of almost all the guests at his hotel in the seaside town of Torquay.
His wife Sybil seems to be shy of work, so the bulk of the problems and general running of the hotel is left to Polly the waitress. Polly, in turn, is the most competent of the hotel's staff, while poor Manuel manages as best he with his broken English as the hotel's porter, waiter and general dogsbody.
Basil and Sybil are joined by some other much loved characters for the production, combining three episodes; Communication Problems, Waldorf Salad and The Hotel Inspectors.
