The boss of a Lincoln environmental consultancy has said expansion into international markets has helped the firm gear up for growth in 2013.

Gareth Pickles, managing director of Delta-Simons, said the company had been appointed for projects in Poland, Germany and Dundee, and had taken on more staff.

He added the business, based in Union Road, was set to reveal more good news in the coming weeks.

He said: "In the next few weeks I hope to be able to make further announcements on a key new appointment, share details of our innovative new web platform, update on Delta-Simons' East Anglia soil recycling centre and new international business won due to our unique international delivery capability.

"In addition, we have already undertaken a review of the first potential acquisition target and have commenced feasibility evaluation of new regional centres.

"There is a lot going on."

Mr Pickles said measures including diversification and winning new international contracts would help push the business forward further.

Delta-Simons, which has offices in Lincoln, Norwich, Durham and Edinburgh, provides regeneration, compliance and sustainability consultancy to the property and industrial sectors across the UK and around the world.

Mr Pickles added, while the business and its industry has faced challenges during the economic crisis, his company had focused on growth and diversifying its services.

"There is no merit in bemoaning the economy or idly waiting for things to improve," he said.

"It's been hard going for everyone in our industry but this is a great team of people and I'm extremely proud to be part of it and of everything Delta-Simons stands for."
