The Dambusters remake could benefit from a new initiative to make life easier for filmmakers in Lincolnshire.

The county is only the second to sign up to the East Midlands Film Friendly Initiative which will see local authorities work in partnership with the regional screen agency EM Media.

Between them they will work to create guidelines that make life easier for producers, with lists of contacts, locations, and details on how to arrange special requirements like road closures.

Penny Baker, Lincolnshire Tourism's chief executive, said: "Lincolnshire has much to offer filmmakers with its varied coastline and diverse locations.

"We believe that joining EM Media and other partners in being well aware of what it takes to be a great location for filmmakers will also draw more media attention, attract more visitors and lead to a major boost to the Lincolnshire economy."

The latest news to appear about the long-in-development remake of the Dambusters is that Lord of the Rings director, Peter Jackson, is currently working on experimental three-dimensional aerial footage in New Zealand.
