Crews tackle house fire as police investigate drugs link
A fire at a house in Bassingham this afternoon could have been started by equipment used to help grow drugs, say police.
Lincolnshire Police have launched an investigation after three crews of firefighters were called to a property in the village.
Appliances from North Hykeham, Brant Broughton and Newark were called to the scene in Middlegate at Bassingham at 2.41pm.
A fire and rescue spokesman said: "The fire was in a roof space at the house and it was extinguished by crews from three stations."

Inspector Mark Hillson of Lincolnshire Police said: "We are investigating the possibility that the fire was caused by overheating equipment which may have been used to produce illegal substances on the property.
"The investigation is in its early stages and nobody has been arrested."
